Contamac has announced FDA clearance of its hexafocon A material, HEXA100. The clearance has been granted for spherical, toric, multifocal/bifocal, irregular cornea and orthokeratology indications as well as for use with Tangible Hydra-PEG treatment.

In response to demand from both custom lens laboratories and eye care practitioners, Contamac is pleased to be able to offer an alternative to existing suppliers of this popular gas permeable material.

The material has been in development for some time and produced to allow a trouble-free transfer of existing users to the new product. In addition, the new material HEXA100, will be available with the Tangible Hydra-PEG treatment – making it the only version of hexafocon A available with this exciting innovation. This will extend the availability of Tangible Hydra-PEG to a much wider patient base.

HEXA100 will be available over the course of the fourth quarter. “HEXA100 is the result of us listening to our customers and yet another example of Contamac’s commitment to the profession and industry alike”, said Robert McGregor, Managing Director.
