Akron Zoo Monkey has Cataract Surgery, Considered a First for Such a Small Animal

Ana the Akron Zoo’s female golden lion tamarin has a fresh look at life. And the 13-year-old tiny primate can thank two Cleveland doctors. Zookeepers at the Akron Zoo noticed that Ana was having trouble navigating her enclosure inside the Komodo Kingdom a few months ago. The zoo’s veterinary staff sprang into action and discovered the monkey needed eye surgery.
