Cognitive Decline Tied to Increased Visual-Field Variability in Glaucoma

Cognitive decline is associated with increased visual-field variability over time in patients with glaucoma, suggesting a need to screen and monitor for cognitive dysfunction, according to a new study. Dr. Felipe Medeiros from the University of California, San Diego, in La Jolla, and colleagues conducted a prospective cohort study in 211 eyes of 115 patients diagnosed with glaucoma or suspected of having the disease.
