In Latinos, the likelihood of developing primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) is related to ancestry and income, new research suggests. "Our results demonstrate for the first time that Latinos who have a lower proportion of European ancestry and who have low income are at higher risk for primary open-angle glaucoma," lead author Dr. X. Raymond Gao of the University of Illinois at Chicago told Reuters Health.
