TrueVision Appoints William J. Link to Board of Directors
TrueVision announced today the appointment of William J. Link, PhD, to its Board of Directors. The appointment is effective immediately.
“TrueVision’s advancement of digital image science for surgery, the quality of their strategic partners, along with its ability to enhance the surgical experience has been spectacular," Dr. Link said in a company news release. “I look forward to working alongside a talented team of innovators and technologists to expand TrueVision’s Digital Surgery Platform® to multiple surgical markets, treatments and applications, including growing its impact on ophthalmology.”
Dr. Link has a long history of leadership in business and in the healthcare industry. He is currently the founder and principal of Flying L Partners, a strategic fund focused primarily on ophthalmology. Prior to Flying L Partners, he was a managing director and co-founder of Versant Ventures, a leading venture capital firm, where he spent more than 25 years investing and building some of the most successful and innovative medical device companies. Prior to entering venture capital, he founded Chiron Vision (now part of Bausch + Lomb) and American Medical Optics (now part of J&J Vision). He serves on the board of several private and three public companies including Glaukos (GKOS), Second Sight (EYES) and Edwards Life Sciences (EW). Dr. Link received his BS, MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.
